Michael Garnier

Rhythm is everywhere and everyone has the ability to play it. The benefits of understanding rhythm translate across the entire musical spectrum; regardless of what instrument you play. It is my passion and I aspire to assist others in developing their own awareness of it and empower them to express what it is they have to say to the world.

Additional Background Info:

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, he began playing drums at age 11, taking lessons at his local drum shop and playing in local rock bands. Later, he continued his study of both percussion and audio engineering at Central Missouri State University; where he graduated with a B.A. in Music. After which he traveled and live in Japan for several years. While there, he taught English and honed his skills as an educator providing personalized lessons for his students. In 2006, he relocated to Colorado and continued working as a professional musician and educator.

As an educator, lessons with Mike have the ability to span a diverse range of musical genres, concepts, and applications. He is passionate about music and provides music lessons tailored specifically to each of his students in order to assist them in reaching their own musical goals.

As an audio engineer, Mike has built his own recording studio over the years resulting in a hybrid digital/analog setup. This has allowed him to gain a working knowledge of proper recording techniques and familiarity with recording software, digital audio workstations, electronic drum kits, drum machines, sequencers, and MIDI systems.

“Mikes depth of knowledge and experience combined with his ability to personalize the material and make it fun helped my son to learn the techniques presented with ease and look forward to future instruction!”
